The Draft I Always Delete

It's 2am and I'm writing an email I will never send. I do this more than I'd admit.
Today in the meeting she said our idea like it was hers. The thing we built at my kitchen table over two weekends. She said I, and our boss nodded and wrote it down under her name.
I didn't say anything. I smiled. I'm very good at smiling.
So now I'm in the draft folder typing the version where I do say something. Just so you know, the deck you presented today, and then I list it. Every part. The footnotes. The font I picked.
I'm not going to send it. I know I'm not. I'll delete it before I close the laptop like I always do.
But there's something I like about how it sits there, fully written, true, mine. The receipt nobody will ever read.
I just checked. She posted a photo from the team dinner I wasn't invited to. Captioned it so proud of what we made.
I added one more line to the draft. I'm getting really good at writing things nobody sees.
Did this one stay with you?
