It's Raining in Both Cities
i never took her city out of the weather app. tonight it's the exact same forecast over both of us.
I never took her city out of the weather app. It just sits there under mine, two little cards I swipe past every morning without reading. Tonight I read it.
Same temperature. Same little cloud with the same two raindrops. Forty minutes apart by car and the sky is apparently doing the exact same thing over both of us, which it never does, which I'd know because I check hers more than I'll admit.
It's a coincidence. Weather is big, it covers a lot of ground at once, this is just how it works. I know that. But it's 2am and I'm at the window watching actual rain and thinking somewhere she might be at a window too.
I could delete the card. It's one swipe, I've deleted heavier things. I don't. If it's going to rain on both of us I'd rather know.
Did this one stay with you?

It Still Drives Around Her Bed
The robot vacuum runs at 2am and still curves around the corner where her bed used to be. I took it out in March.
The Silence Before the Robot
I call your old number sometimes. Not to reach anyone, just for the second of quiet before the voicemail.
